The OSI’s functions include investigating allegations of criminal offences under Australian law arising from or related to breaches of the Laws of Armed Conflict by members of the Australian Defence Force in Afghanistan between 2005 and 2016.
Guidance to Defence personnel on the Department of Defence Criminal Investigations or Proceedings page advises it is appropriate for current and former Australian Defence Force members to cooperate with the joint OSI-AFP investigations, should they wish to do so, including by participating in an interview and providing a statement.
Guidance for public interest disclosure enquiries – you can make a public interest disclosure using the webform below. A public interest disclosure can only be made by a current or former public official. Further information is available on our Public Interest Disclosure page.
Guidance for corruption-related enquiries or reports – you can make an enquiry about corruption related matters or make a report of suspected corruption to the OSI by using the webform below. You can also make a report directly to the National Anti-Corruption Commission. Please note that a report of suspected corruption which falls within the remit of the NACC, may be dealt with simultaneously by the OSI as a Code of Conduct or public interest disclosure matter.
